2011 SITAWE Awards Presentation
The SITAWE Awards were given at the Chamber’s Volunteer Recognition event to four special Chamber members who were “Shot in the Arm with Enthusiasm” for the Chamber and its activities. The recipients are selected each year by the Executive Committee upon recommendations from other members and the staff. And….it’s a surprise to the recipients!
Representing Cost Segregation Services, Dave Dixon rejoined the Chamber last year. While he admitted that he made a mistake by not getting involved and subsequently not to renew his membership, he did everything right this time around! Dave is active with the Marketing, Government Relations, Small Business, Member Recruitment & Retention and Member Benefits Committees. As he wrote in the Outlook magazine, “Getting involved in the Chamber has made my membership a worthwhile investment. Being involved is a great way to highlight my business.” Not only has his return been good for his business, it’s been great for the Chamber and we’re proud to recognize him with this award.
Our second recipient has been an active member for over 10 years – Cindy Peto from TMA Bucks. She completed the Leadership Bucks County program several years ago and has certainly learned about the importance of being involved. She’s been an Ambassador for many years, truly enjoying her role delivering welcome packets to new members and greeting everyone with a smile at so many of our events. An active member of the Women’s Resource Committee, she’s been very involved in planning the Career Women on the Move program and is always there the day of the event to lend a hand in any way possible.
Our third recipient has been involved with our Chamber for over 15 years – Jackie Liney from the Children’s Cultural Center has continually stepped forward to volunteer for membership drives, at the Golf Outing, as a Mentor at our Business Expo escorting students around the exhibit hall, and as a Chamber Ambassador. Most recently, at our building and grounds workday last month, she enlisted the help of the Bucks County Youth agency so that young people could help at the Chamber and receive credit towards community service. For three years, she chaired our Technology Committee and did a wonderful job leading that group in a variety of activities. Always supporting our programs and events, she has attended over 200 in the 10 years.
Kevin Ody from the Bucks County Technical High School has also been a Chamber member for over 10 years. He’s been an active member of the Business Education Partnership Committee and for several years, he helped facilitate the Business Education Update program which was a valuable forum to bring business people and educators together. As the Coordinator of Adult Education at Bucks County Technical High School, he helped the Chamber bring numerous events to the school, such as last fall’s Congressional Debate, legislative forums, Percolator meetings. He also serves on the Leadership Advisory Board.
