Educational Programs

GUIDELINES – Seminars, Workshops and Classes

The mission of the LBCCC Educational Committee is to provide vital information on various topics to our Chamber members to educate them and help them grow their businesses. We strive to ensure that the program is engaging and interactive so as to encourage members to attend more events in the future.

Seminars

    8:00 – 9:00 a.m. (February, April, June, August, October, December)
    Cost: Members $15; Non-Members $30 – No Refunds
    Sponsor: Members $100; Non-Members $200

    Definition: Seminar presentations are meetings where delegates are given information in a subject by experts in that field. Normally held from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Seminars are more limited to handouts and often include a PowerPoint presentation.

  • The Seminar dates are set and occur the first Wednesday of the month.
  • The Seminar cannot conflict or compete with other Chamber programs or events.
  • All Seminar Presentation requests must be made at least 60 days prior to the event date.
  • The Seminar must show direct and exclusive benefit to the audience.
  • Fundraising and partisan seminars will not be considered for this program.
  • The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce is responsible for facility and audio/visual and provides lite refreshments (i.e., coffee, tea, water).
  • The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the sponsor and speaker are responsible for marketing to ensure the success of the program.
  • The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce will market to their members by displaying the flyer in its building and at all Chamber events, on their website, and inclusion in the monthly e-mail blast, solo blast and social media.
  • The Seminar will be cancelled if less than ten reservations.
  • Presenter provides their own handouts.
  • PRESENTER INFORMATION:
    Give information to the businessperson that may help, inform, or have an impact on his/her business. Seeking political endorsements, any solicitation of funds, sponsors, or clients, made directly to the members during the presentation is specifically prohibited.

    Presenter to Provide:

  • Headshot
  • How the audience will benefit by hearing your presentation?
  • Information about why you are professionally qualified to speak on the topic being presented. This can include years of experience, achievements, previous presentations, etc.
  • A bio/resume.
  • List of other organizations/programs you are presented.
  • How you will market the Seminar.
  • Submit on of these items for review by the Educational Programming Committee:
    a. Presentation of outline/slides
    b. Video of a presentation
    c. Reference from 3 colleagues who have seen your presentation
    d. Schedule of your next speaking engagement for a committee member to attend
  • SPONSOR INFORMATION:]

  • Distribute literature at each place and/or have a display table at the event as well as signage.
  • Introduction by moderator and opportunity to make a 5-minute (maximum) presentation about your company.
  • Receive all marketing benefits including logo on all materials, displaying the flyer in its building and at all Chamber events, on their website, and inclusion in the monthly e-mail blast, solo blast and social media.
  • Two attendee passes to the program.

Workshops

    11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (January, March, May, July, September, November)
    Cost: Members $30; Non-Members $60 – No Refunds
    Sponsor: Members $200; Non-Members $350

    Definition: Workshop presentations are meeting where delegates are given information and instruction in a subject by experts in that field. Attendees may be a limited number, tend to have a workbook and are more instructional. Normally held from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and includes lunch.

  • The Workshop dates are set and occur the first Wednesday of the month.
  • The Workshop cannot conflict or compete with other Chamber programs or events.
  • All Workshop Presentation requests must be made at least 60 days prior to the event date.
  • The Workshop must show direct and exclusive benefit to the audience.
  • Fundraising and partisan seminars will not be considered for this program.
  • The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce is responsible for facility and audio/visual and provides lunch and beverages.
  • The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the sponsor and speaker are responsible for marketing to ensure the success of the program.
  • The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce will market to their members by displaying the flyer in its building and at all Chamber events, on their website, and inclusion in the monthly e-mail blast, solo blast and social media.

Classes: Scheduled on a Case by Case Basis

    April/May or September/October with a Sponsor
    Definition: A class or series of classes in which a small group of people learn the methods and skills used in doing something through interactive exercises. Questions are usually handled as they arise and often turn into group discussions. Generally it is a form of academic instruction and has the function of bringing together small groups for a meeting, focusing each time on some particular subject. Classes are usually smaller, 10 people or less and tend to have a workbook. Can include online training.

  • The Classes date/s must be mutually agreed upon.
  • The Classes cannot conflict or compete with other Chamber programs or events.
  • All Classes Presentation requests must be made at least 60 days prior to the event date.
  • The Classes must show direct and exclusive benefit to the audience.
  • Fundraising and partisan seminars will not be considered for this program.
