LBCCC Holds 3rd Annual ECONference

The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce hosted the 3rd Annual ECONference at Parx East, Bensalem, on Wednesday, May 18th. Over 300 business professionals and thought leaders were in attendance. Special guests of the event were former Philadelphia Flyer, Brian Propp, Mayor of Bensalem, Joe DiGirolamo, and Author of Playing it Forward, Nick Gianoulis. Build Your Business on Bucks County’s Highways to Success was the theme in response to the newly-introduced cashless toll system as well as the multi-phase plan to connect I-95 and the PA Turnpike.

Amy M.B. McKenna, President of the Lower Bucks County Chamber, moderated the morning forum, whose impressive panel consisted of Bradley J. Heigel, P.E., Chief Engineer, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Bill Brady, Executive Director of TMA Bucks and Paul Bencivengo, Vice President of Visit Bucks County. They provided different perspectives on the increasing regional economic growth and tourism opportunities which will result from the new projects and how they will positively impact Bucks County businesses by improving roadway congestion on our local roadways.

The morning program was followed by informative breakout sessions led by local industry leaders. Attendees enjoyed presentations on contemporary topics such as marketing, branding, business partnerships with Non-Profit organizations, how to do business with Parx Casino, web presence and social media.  “I thoroughly enjoyed the day. The speakers were great, the breakouts I attended were very informative, and as an exhibitor and attendee, the Expo was very lively and provided many great business connections and generated quality leads,” stated Incoming Board Chair, Suzy Buehler of McCafferty Auto Group.

The afternoon program was kicked off by Nick Gianoulis, Founder of The Fun Dept., author of Playing It Forward, who offered ECONference participants innovative ways to motivate employees through fun in the workplace. He emphasized that “Fun in the workplace is a process, not an event.” The Economic Forum, moderated by Bob Cormack, Executive Director, Bucks County Economic Development Corporation, consisted of a great cross-section of different industries with the panelists speaking on topics such as building your business, fundraising for your business, revitalizing the performances of sales teams, and increasing visibility on the increasing internet highway.

Following the afternoon forum, business professionals networked at the ECONference Tradeshow and Business Card Exchange.  “ECONference 2016 was a great success, and is a true testament to how the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce keeps abreast of current issues which affect the business community, and provides quality educational programming and networking opportunities.  A special thank you to our Lead Sponsor, Parx Casino, and our Forum Sponsors, Lower Bucks Hospital and Univest Bank & Trust Company,” said Lower Bucks County Chamber President, Amy M.B. McKenna.
